Bio:

Lara Alami, M.M. Lara Alami is a professional mezzo-soprano and dedicated voice teacher based in the Detroit area. She holds a Master of Music in Vocal Pedagogy from Oakland University (conferred April 2025) and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Arizona State University (2003). Lara teaches voice to students of all levels, with a focus on healthy technique, expressive artistry, and individualized instruction. She maintains an active private studio and teaches at the collegiate level.

As a performer, Lara sings regularly with nationally recognized ensembles including Conspirare, True Concord, Audivi, and Alium Spiritum. She appears as a soloist in oratorio and concert performances, including annual engagements as the alto soloist in Handel’s Messiah and a recent performance as the alto soloist in Mozart’s Requiem with the St. Paul Choir and Orchestra. She is also frequently hired to perform the National Anthem at professional and formal events. Lara is passionate about helping each singer grow in confidence, skill, and musical expression.
