Title: M.M.
Bio:
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music with a concentration in Vocal Performance from Kenyon College, and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Northern Colorado. I spent six years teaching general music and choir to students from junior kindergarten through eighth grade in Colorado, while simultaneously launching my private voice studio—Skylark Voice Studio—and beginning my work as a musical director.
Since then, I’ve had the honor of serving as musical director for numerous theater companies across California, including Performing Academy, I Can Do That!, Stapleton School of the Performing Arts, and The YES Foundation. I also run my own theater company, Take the Stage, a summer musical theater intensive designed for children ages five to fifteen.
My goal as a teacher is to meet performing artists of all ages where they are and help them grow in vocal technique, stage presence, music theory, and honest, organic acting. I believe in nurturing both skill and confidence—and in making the learning process as joyful and collaborative as the art itself.
