Title: Voice Teacher/Artistic Director
Bio: Denise Williams has been a voice teacher for over 25 years, national adjudicator, and Royal College of Conservatory Examiner since 2000.
Denise has much experience teaching the cross over between classical and contemporary styles, in young voices, in restoring tired, strained, or aging voices, and in understanding voices of colour.
Her Voices of Colour music studio mission recognizes that each person posses a unique instrument, has individual needs, desires, and goals. We strive to hone one's own natural vocal or instrumental colour and style through individually tailored studies which promote singing or playing with ease and freedom. We understand how the psyche can get in the way and strive to channel the psycho-emotional path to successful performing; beginner or advanced, amateur or professional, classical or contemporary.
Denise is a professional singer, vocal teacher, music educator, artistic director and producer. As a performer, she is at home on the concert, opera to theatre stages. She is the founding Artistic Director of No Strings Theatre, a charitable, music theatre training ground for youths aged 13-21 and emerging production artists ages 19-35. She is a member of the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television, and Radio Artists (ACTRA), Canadian Actors Equity Association (CAEA) National, the Association for Teachers of Singing (NATS), The Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association (ORMTA), Theatre Ontario, and the Royal College of Conservatory Examiners.
