Title: Assistant Professor of Voice and Lyric Diction, University of Alabama
Bio: Alexis Davis Hazell, Mezzo-soprano provides singers with a foundation in vocal technique that makes physical, emotional and artistic freedom possible. These techniques can reveal and strengthen any voice for any style of singing. With consistent work, students of Alexis can expect to achieve measurable results with their true voices in a relatively short amount of time—results that can last a lifetime. Alexis is an active member of the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA) and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). As a proud member of the Voice Faculty at Chandler-Gilbert Community College Alexis has been instructing voice students in their Performing Arts department, along with introductory music theory, ear training and courses in music humanities, since 2004. Alexis draws on her experience as a teacher and performer to provide a technical foundation for the singers in her independent vocal studio. This technical foundation helps singers of all ages and experience levels achieve the physical, emotional and artistic freedom they desire, within their chosen musical style.
