Sarah Lee Michaels has performed professionally as a singer/dancer/actor for the last twenty-five years in music and theater. A troupe member with Bob Hope’s USO shows in the early 80s, she toured with the Louisiana Worlds’ Fair, the national tours of “Ziegfeld” and “Will Rogers Follies” and performed numerous regional and local roles in music theater including Eva Peron in Evita, Fastrada in Pippin, Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd, Sally Bowles in Cabaret, and Sheila in A Chorus Line. As a master vocal coach/voice teacher in Fairfield County, CT and NYC, she is also an active music teacher/coach and choreographer in musical theater, dance, and acting. She has taught master classes at Brass City Ballet (Fosse style) in CT and musical directs Broadway cabaret shows in local venues. She directs local productions of one-act original plays, Broadway musicals and cabaret and revue shows. A member of Actor’s Equity (AEA) and SAG/ AFTRA, NATS, and NAMfE, Sarah holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Salem College, post graduate study at the Yale International Cabaret Conference, and a Master degree in Music Education from Boston University. Currently a PhD candidate with BU, her dissertation work is researching music performance anxiety and adolescent singers. She is active in the cabaret community in NYC and currently instructs cabaret workshops to adults who want to organize their own shows. Sarah is a busy teacher, singer, and advocate of higher learning—where her mission is to teach both children and adults the best singing pedagogy possible. Private voice instruction and vocal coaching available year round. Large studio with baby grand piano and sound equipment including microphones, accompaniment, taping facilities and more. Sessions are 30 , 45 or 60 minutes. Study in both classical and contemporary commercial music \nWorks with musical theater professionals, opera, high school student aspiring to further training in college, and offers workshops and prep classes for competitions and auditions.
