Bio: A classically trained vocalist, voice teacher and choir director, Tammy Patterson received both her Bachelor of Music Education in Voice and Master of Arts in Conducting Degrees from Sam Houston State University, where her principal teachers were the well-renowned voice teacher Dr. Walter Foster, and the legendary choral master, Dr. B.R. “Bev” Henson. In addition to her successful career in secondary music education, Mrs. Patterson continues to perform as a soloist in major works such as the Mozart Requiem, Faure Requiem, Brahms Requiem, Rutter Gloria, and the Bach B Minor Mass. She has always been involved in church music and for the past ten years has served as a staff singer at First Methodist Church in Houston. Currently, Mrs. Patterson sings as soprano section leader in the Fort Worth Chorale, maintains a successful private voice studio, producing students in the All-State Choir, students pursuing music education and performance degrees, and students performing in community and professional organizations. Her students consistently place in the finals at the DFW Chapter Auditions. She is a member of National Association of Teachers of Singing,Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Choral Directors Association, and Texas Music Adjudicators Association.
