Tammy has been teaching voice & drama for over 10 years in various schools within Waterloo Region, and now currently teaches from her private studios in Cambridge & Toronto and at Bravo Academy of the Performing Arts in North York. From 2012 to 2017 Tammy ran a voice program at Meyerhofer Academy of the Performing Arts in Cambridge designed to develop triple threat performers. Tammy is in high demand as a children’s drama educator & director. On a recent volunteer trip to Kenya, Tammy helped to present workshops on drama, dance, and singing with underprivileged children in various schools and orphanages.
In 2012, Tammy attend the Contemporary Commercial Music Institute at Shenandoah University to study Somatic Voicework℠ The Lovetri Method to further her knowledge and understanding of contemporary singing styles. In 2015, she attended the NYU Summer Vocal Pedagogy Intensive under the direction of Dr. Brian Gill. Tammy continues to study the latest developments in voice science so she can provide her students with the best and most accurate information.
Tammy’s teaching expands from her private studio into workshops and masterclasses including the most recent workshop she presented with her friend and colleague Amie Debrone entitled, “Belting is Your Birthright!” Beyond teaching Tammy is gaining recognition as an adjudicator and juror for organizations and festivals such as the Ontario Arts Council, Cambridge Mayor’s Celebration of the Arts, and the Guelph Kiwanis Music Festival.
