Studio teaching of undergraduate and graduate voice majors; potential teaching of required graduate courses in song literature if candidate’s interest and qualifications warrant. Service on Jacobs School committees and participation in departmental meetings, hearings, auditions, recruitment activities and doctoral advisory committees is expected.
Established or emerging national reputation as a successful teacher. Applicants with demonstrated success in teaching graduate classes in song literature will receive special consideration. Master’s degree in hand required by the date of hire (August 1, 2015); equivalent professional experience will be given equal consideration.
The search committee will consider both junior and senior applicants; appointment will be at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, as appropriate; ten-month, tenured or tenure-track position. For tenure-track appointees: initial three-year appointment followed by annual appointments upon successful reappointment reviews; tenure decision in the sixth year after initial appointment.
Salary: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
