Job Description / Duties

Studio teaching of voice and related activities including performance preparation for a wide variety of skill levels and genres including classical, musical theater, jazz, and pop traditions. Students may include voice secondary music majors, non-music majors, and BA music majors. Instructor may also teach voice classes for non-voice primary music educators and beginners. This is a .5 FTE position.

Qualifications / Required Skills

All voice categories may apply. Professional teaching and performance experience preferred. Some in-lesson piano skills desired. Ability to bring students to the highest levels of artistic and musical mastery in a nurturing, student-centered environment. The ideal candidate is a collaborative colleague adept at developing healthy vocal technique in classical and non-classical styles. Appropriate terminal degree or equivalent experience. Although this is a Conservatory appointment, strong support of the ideals and goals of a broad liberal arts education is expected.
