Job Description / Duties

The School of Music invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure line faculty position available August 20, 2021. Primary responsibilities are to teach undergraduate and graduate studio voice as well as to recruit and maintain a strong studio; additionally, to maintain a national profile in performance and professional service; perform as a soloist and in faculty ensembles as needed; teach ancillary courses such as diction, literature, and/or pedagogy; advance students in academic matters; assist students in job and graduate school placement.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications: Completed master’s degree in vocal performance. A documented history of professional activity in voice performance. Two years of teaching experience at the university level, gained concurrently or at any time.

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in vocal performance and/or strong performance/scholarly background as a requisite to serving on the university graduate faculty. Mezzo-soprano voice preferred. Language skills for performing in English, Italian, German, and French.
