Overview

Utah State University seeks a dynamic artist-teacher of voice. This is an academic-year (9-month), tenure-track position to begin August of 2022. Review of applications begins November 15, 2021 and continues until filled.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include teaching applied voice for voice majors and courses in vocal pedagogy. Voice and Opera Program Coordinator duties include: making voice studio assignments for voice primary music majors (voice performance, choral music education, and music therapy majors), secondary instrument majors and non-majors; oversight of voice faculty associates; coordination/supervision of weekly Voice Area Master Class and weekly Voice Recital Hour; coordination of voice juries and recital previews; and coordination with opera director in season selection and casting decisions for opera/musical theater productions produced by the department.

Additional duties as assigned depending on the strengths of the candidate and departmental needs.

Qualifications

Terminal Degree (DMA) or equivalent professional performing experience with a master’s degree required. The successful candidate will be an accomplished performing musician and teacher with a record of successful teaching experience and will possess an engaging teaching manner and demonstrate outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills.
