The School of Music in the College of Performing and Visual Arts at the University of Northern Colorado invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Voice, Bass-Baritone.
Position Description:
The University of Northern Colorado School of Music invites applications for a full-time position as an Artist-Scholar in the Voice Area. The successful candidate will actively recruit music majors within the framework of our goal of increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion, and work collaboratively with colleagues to advance the School’s programs and initiatives. Specific responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate voice lessons, studio class, and possibly additional areas within the Voice Area based on a candidate’s strengths, qualifications, and interests. Other primary responsibilities will include supervising graduate research and writing. Service to the university and/or the profession, and development of a national professional profile commensurate with a tenure-track position are expected.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Baritone or Bass voice type
ABD in Vocal Performance with a degree completed December 2025
Potential for professional activity at the national level
1 year of teaching voice and related coursework at the college level
Commitment to inclusive recruitment practices that attract a diverse body of students
Preferred Qualifications:
Earned Terminal degree in Vocal Performance
Experience in teaching pedagogy and mentoring Graduate students and Teaching Assistants
2 years or more teaching voice and related coursework at the college level
Graduate-level teaching
Record of professional activity of a national or wider scope

Benefits:
Benefits available include health, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement plans for all full-time positions. Employees at UNC receive sick leave, and other leave options may be available based on position. Full-time employees are eligible to receive tuition waiver benefits, as well as dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed at 0.5 FTE or above are eligible for undergraduate dependent tuition grants of up to 50%. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges. Further requirements may exist. Other benefits may be available based on position.
Salary: $52000-$55000
