Job Description / Duties

Studio teaching of voice and related activities including recital and opera preparation and performing. Classroom teaching could include vocal pedagogy and diction. Additional responsibilities include all service related activities associated with a tenure-track position, including student advising, recruiting, committee assignments, and other forms of institutional service.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Soprano. Professional performance experience preferred. Ability to bring students to the highest levels of artistic and musical mastery in a nurturing, student-centered environment. The ideal candidate is a collaborative colleague who is adept at developing Western classical technique and other modes of singing in current career fields. Appropriate terminal degree or equivalent experience. Although this is a Conservatory appointment, strong support of the ideals and goals of a broad liberal arts education is expected, including teaching in Lawrence’s flagship Freshman Studies program on a rotating basis.
