Job Description / Duties

The Ripon College Department of Music invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August 2019. We seek candidates to lead a growing voice area within a music curriculum focused on music education. The teaching load centers on studio voice lessons and Group Voice Class, with additional courses in diction, vocal pedagogy, music history, and world music. This position requires a moderate level of piano proficiency. Successful candidates will demonstrate the desire and ability to contribute to the institution’s distinctive Catalyst curriculum (https://www.ripon.edu/catalyst/). In particular, we seek candidates who demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion. Preferably, this faculty member will contribute a Catalyst course focusing on intercultural competence through the lens of music. Additionally, this position includes coordinating the Chamber Music and Jazz at Ripon performing arts series, supervision of student recitals, coaching musical theater productions, and the potential to develop an opera scenes program.

Qualifications / Required Skills

A doctoral degree in Vocal Performance/Pedagogy or a closely related field is required. A.B.D. candidates will be considered with the expectation that the degree be completed within the first year of employment.
