Job Description / Duties

The Theatre program at the University of Nebraska at Omaha is actively seeking a dynamic candidate for the role of a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Musical Theatre, with the position scheduled to commence on August 19, 2024. While the primary teaching focus will be musical theatre performance, we are open to exploring other courses that align with the candidate’s expertise. We are particularly interested in an individual who can take on a leadership role within our BA musical theatre program and our rapidly expanding Summer Musical Theatre Academy for high school students.



Qualifications / Required Skills

We are in search of candidates who embody qualities such as dynamism and a student-centered approach to teaching. It is essential that candidates have a deep understanding of the musical theatre repertoire and the industry at large. The ideal candidate should also possess experience in administration, program development, course creation, recruitment, and/or community outreach. Prior experience as a musical director and accompanist is highly desired.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the growth and community outreach efforts of our program. We seek an educator who is passionate about musical theatre and education and is eager to contribute to our vibrant unit.
