Job Description / Duties

Reporting to the Department Chair, this position requires: 1) teaching applied voice; 2) teaching other voice/opera-related courses (e.g., vocal pedagogy and vocal literature); 3) actively recruiting potential music majors; 4) maintaining an active scholarly/creative activity agenda (through performances, presentations, and/or publications); 5) attending area and department meetings; 6) serving on juries; and 7) other teaching and service duties as assigned by the Chair, based on the candidate’s strengths and departmental needs. The position is an academic (9/10 month), tenure-track appointment. and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Required Qualifications:

·Earned doctorate in Vocal Performance or related field by August 1, 2019

·Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment without assistance from the institution

Preferred Qualifications:

·College-level teaching experience
·Ability to teach vocal pedagogy
·Ability to teach vocal literature
·Experience directing opera
