Job Description / Duties

The Ithaca College School of Music, soon to be The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance (as of 7/2/22) invites applications for a one-year, full-time Assistant Professor of Voice position beginning August 2022. Primary responsibilities will include teaching applied voice lessons to undergraduate vocalists in the majors of Vocal Performance, Musical Theatre, Vocal Jazz, Music Education, Bachelor of Music with an Outside Field, Bachelor of Arts, and Sound-Recording Technology. Other duties may include teaching an array of undergraduate courses within the dynamic voice area such as improvisation, diction, and song literature, or developing courses based on the Professor's areas of expertise and needs of the program. This position includes a 24-credit teaching load. The candidate will be expected to engage fully in programmatic duties associated with recruitment and retention including audition adjudication, contributions to curricular development, and participation in activities pertaining to program advancement.

Qualifications / Required Skills

A Master’s degree and college-level teaching experience beyond the graduate-assistantship level, and evidence of success as a performing artist are required for this position.
