Job Description / Duties

The Rowan University Department of Music is seeking to hire a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor of Voice starting September 1, 2022. A Master’s Degree in Music is required. An advanced degree in Vocal Pedagogy is preferred. The successful candidate’s duties will include teaching vocal pedagogy, voice class, applied voice, and vocal literature along with other voice-related courses according to the candidate’s skills, interests, and background. In addition, the candidate will be actively involved in recruiting students for the vocal programs.

Qualifications / Required Skills

The successful candidate will possess the ability to sustain a path of scholarly and creative activity in vocal performance and vocal pedagogy and have a minimum of three years of documented success as a voice teacher at the collegiate level. In addition to possessing exceptional organizational skills, piano skills, and a demonstrated passion for teaching, the successful candidate will be committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in their teaching and welcome collaboration within the arts and the wider community in keeping with the mission of the university.
