Job Description / Duties
The Florida State University School of Theatre invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Voice. We are seeking an artist-scholar and collaborator with significant professional and academic experience teaching voice using a multi-disciplinary approach, including but not limited to systems such as Linklater and Fitzmaurice, among others. An MFA or equivalent terminal degree is required, as is successful college level teaching and professional experience.
Responsibilities include teaching three courses each semester covering Voice 1, 2, 3 and 4, primarily for the BFA Acting and BA Programs. We are interested in practitioners who are committed to teaching undergraduates and who have an active professional practice. The position requires serving on School and University Committees, assisting in the recruitment and mentoring of students, and working in cooperation with faculty and staff in fulfilling the professional training and educational mission of the School of Theatre. Other requirements include commitment to anti-racism, equity, and inclusion; ability to work effectively with community members with respect to gender, expression, race, sexual orientation, religion, ability, age, class, and national or ethnic origin; as well as commitment to safe working practices in the entertainment industry.
Applicants are required to complete the online application and must include a letter of introduction, current CV, diversity statement, and three recent letters of recommendation. Additional information may be requested. Completed applications will be reviewed beginning November 15 and continue until the position is filled.
