Job Description / Duties
Popovsky Performing Arts Studio, Lancaster County's premier performing arts studio, is hiring for a dynamic, full-time Voice Teacher to join their team. Popovsky Performing Arts (PPAS) was founded in 2007 and has continuously provided the highest quality education and experiences for those looking to explore the performing arts. As an organization, we value collaboration, communication and vivacious energy to get the best out of our students and give them a fun and encouraging place to learn!
Voice Instructors teach weekly private lessons to students ranging from children through adults and beginners through professionals; prepare students for auditions/performances both internally and externally; communicate with clients and colleagues in a timely and professional manner; and bring an overall positive and purposeful energy to the studio community!
Main responsibilities include
- Providing high level and personalized instruction that considers a students’ goals, limitations, differences, or preferred level of commitment
- Professional communication with clients and colleagues
- Continuous growth as an instructor through continuing education, professional organizations and experiences both in and outside of the studio
- Maintaining a detailed schedule of all lessons/classes
- Collaborating with other studio staff on performances, recitals, etc.
- Keeping detailed records of lessons taught
- Maintaining detailed communication with students and/or parents regarding lessons, assignments, students’ progress or support, and upcoming events or opportunities
Qualifications / Required Skills
Required Skills:
- B.A. or B.F.A in Music, performing arts or related field, Masters in Vocal Pedagogy or related field strongly preferred
- Significant performance experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to play/accompany your own lessons
- Understanding of and passion to continue learning about vocal pedagogy
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent self-management skills
- Strong collaborator
- Attention to detail & punctuality a must
