Job Description
The School of Music in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Nevada seeks a dedicated artist-teacher for the position of Lecturer/Teaching Assistant Professor of Vocal Arts/Associate Director of Choral Activities to begin July 1, 2025. The typical teaching load for this position is 4-4 and the primary teaching responsibilities include working with the Director of Choral Activities in administration of choral ensembles, conducting the Concert Choir, and teaching applied voice. Additional teaching duties may include courses in undergraduate Choral Conducting, Choral Literature, Choral Methods, supervising student interns, conducting the Symphonic (community choir), or other assignments based on expertise and as assigned by the School Director.
The successful candidate is expected to foster a culture of shared excellence by supporting regional public schools, engaging in recruitment efforts, collaborating within the School of Music, and fulfilling service roles. They will also enhance regional and national visibility through guest conducting and active participation in professional organizations.

An accomplished and multifaceted background in ensemble leadership, teaching conducting, and vocal pedagogy

Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate in Music
Demonstrated success in collegiate teaching and service
Demonstrated success in recruitment, community engagement, and program building
Demonstrated experience teaching in K-12 schools or working closely with K-12 schools
A developed portfolio of successful performances
Keyboard skills as appropriate to the applied voice studio or choral rehearsal
