Job Description / Duties

Musical and administrative coordination of three mainstage opera productions (including coaching singers, scheduling musical rehearsals (with vocalists and orchestra), participating in opera casting, overseeing student pianists). Teaching opera literature courses and serve as advisor for the MM in Opera Coaching degree currently offered.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Completed graduate degree in collaborative piano or equivalent professional experience. Candidates must have a proven track record of professional work related to opera music production, including musical coaching and conducting, and have a strong commitment to diversity in teaching, recruitment, creative activity, and service. Demonstrated record of national or international musical engagement as an opera coach/conductor. Excellent opera coaching and piano skills, expertise in Italian, French, English and German language and lyric diction (knowledge of other languages is desirable). Ability to work collaboratively with the voice faculty, stage directors and the Director of Orchestras. Demonstrated ability and interest in working in a collegial and mutually supportive environment.
