Douglas Anderson School of the Arts (DA) is looking for a highly qualified and ambitious individual to serve as a secondary choral/vocal instructor. The DA Vocal Music department currently provides opportunities for musical growth to 9th-12th grade students through three large ensembles, two vocal jazz ensembles, and group vocal technique classes. The vocal program also collaborates regularly with other departments on campus providing support for musical theater as music director and pit conductor and other creative interdisciplinary partnerships.

This position collaborates with the chair of the Vocal department to coordinate all aspects of large choral and small ensembles, vocal instruction, recitals, tours, and choral invitationals. Additional responsibilities may include curriculum development and teaching courses such as group vocal technique, AP Music Theory, beginning Vocal Music Theory. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with high school and/or college choirs at an exceptional level of achievement. They will work with a supportive, experienced, and successful music faculty and booster organization.

In addition to the above accolades, students receive superior rating at district and state solo ensembles MPA.


Douglas Anderson School of the Arts is a tuition-free Duval County Public High School. Admittance to the school is through audition only. Students must maintain high artistic and academic standards throughout their time at DA.
