Job Description / Duties
The Department of Music at Mount Allison University invites applications for a position in Voice Performance. This is a three-year full-time limited term appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2022, and ending June 30, 2025, subject to budgetary approval.
Teaching responsibilities will include weekly studio instruction in voice in the Bachelor of Music program, overseeing student performance preparation, and hearing performance juries associated with these students. Other responsibilities may include teaching courses in Diction, Vocal Pedagogy, Opera History, or other courses in the successful candidate’s fields of expertise. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to maintain an active performance or research profile and undertake departmental service including outreach, recruitment, and committee work. Lessons and courses will be taught on the campus of Mount Allison University.
Qualifications / Required Skills
Preference will be given to applicants with a completed Doctorate in Voice Performance, an established record as a performer, and successful teaching experience at the university level. The minimum requirement is a Master of Music degree.
