Job Description / Duties

Job Description:

Provides a balanced vocal music program that includes instruction, preparation, rehearsals, and organization of assigned tasks.

Teaches skills in vocal music; teaches listening theory and supportive courses relating to the nature, structure and meaning of music; helps students develop discriminatory judgments about music.

Works collaboratively with other associates and the leadership team to develop artistic and educational programs for the Conservatory.

Provides a broad spectrum of vocal music experience that is appropriate to the age and skill level of students.

Prepares curriculum that reflects accommodations for individual student differences.

Utilizes repertoire of all available types of music literature including classical, traditional, and contemporary utilizing different methods.

Plans, rehearses, and directs students for recitals, auditions, and other community performances.

Oversees scheduling and other arrangements for the rehearsals and concerts in cooperation with the management team.

Lead rehearsals in a positive and creative manner to inspire a passion for music and the pursuit of excellence.

Places students in appropriate ensembles when needed.

Assist in recruiting students to the Conservatory throughout the year through school visits, contact with local music teachers, and collaboration with other music organizations. Develop new ways to attract students.

Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.

Perform other duties as assigned.





Qualifications / Required Skills

Degree in music, vocal performance or music education is preferred BUT NOT REQUIRED.

Minimum 5 years’ experience teaching voice to students of all ages and levels.

Demonstrated expertise in voice pedagogy.

Expertise in a broad range of musical genres and styles.

Ability to play piano accompaniments in private lessons.

Effective communication skills to covey musical information and vocal techniques.

Ability to oversee and/or run live rehearsals and performances.

Salary: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
