Job Description / Duties

Music who will embrace teaching a diverse student body within the academic environment of a liberal arts setting. We are especially interested in candidates who will contribute to a campus climate that supports equity, diversity, and belonging. Workload to include the following: Teach studio voice to majors and non-majors in a variety of styles, including classical, music theater, and contemporary commercial music; coordinate voice area; assign students to adjunct voice instructors; supervise work of coach/accompanists. Work with department and admissions staff to recruit students for the voice major and studio voice. Contribute to the liberal arts mission of the college by teaching courses for majors/non-majors on topics such as honors courses, first-year seminars, diction and/or vocal literature, musical theater literature, courses on music of under-represented communities based on the candidate’s background and individual research interests, and other courses as needed. Maintenance of an active performance/scholarship agenda will be expected for possible conversion to a tenure-track. This is a nine-month teaching position (August-May) with employment beginning August 2023.
