Job Description / Duties

The Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester invites applications for full-time, tenure-track Vocal Coach, beginning 1 July 2022. The successful candidate will be an exceptional collaborative pianist and pedagogue who will enhance our faculty and reflect the artist-teacher’s particular expertise in lyric diction, vocal repertoire, and collaborative recital preparation. Candidates at various stages of their careers are encouraged to apply. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.

Essential duties include individualized coaching for singers at the undergraduate and graduate levels in addition to work with collaborative singer/pianist teams. Experience teaching courses in German, French, Italian lyric diction, and vocal repertoire in all genres, including musical theater, is preferred. A deep commitment to include instruction of repertoire from underrepresented groups is required.

Candidate coaching session videos from undergraduate-only institutions will be accepted.
