What's New > Application deadline for 2015 NATS Intern Program is Dec. 15
The application deadline to be considered for the 2015 NATS Intern Program is Monday, Dec. 15. All applications must be received through the NATS online application portal no later than midnight Pacific Time in order to be considered.
The 2015 NATS Intern Program is scheduled for June 9-18, 2015, at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. Master teachers are Donald Simonson, Marilyn Mims, Craig Tompkins and Mary Ann Hart.
The NATS Intern Program is an exciting and innovative venture that seeks to pair experienced and recognized master teachers of voice with talented young members of NATS. Within a format designed to promote the dynamic exchange of ideas and techniques, the goal is to improve substantially the studio teaching skills of these promising young teachers.
In order to apply, an applicant must be a member of NATS in good standing with no more than five years of full-time teaching or the part-time equivalent. Working as a graduate teaching assistant does not count towards the five-year limit. Holding a master's degree or higher is preferable but not required.
“I found my participation in the National Association of Teachers of Singing Intern Program absolutely transformational,” said Minnita Daniel-Cox, a 2014 participant. “The master-class approach to the applied teaching process has forever changed the way I approach my teaching.”
