Allen Henderson with NATS IMPACT Award
|
At the Opening Ceremony of the NATS 57th national conference in Chicago, the NATS Board of Directors surprised Executive Director with the honor of the inaugural NATS IMPACT Award.
Henderson was presented the award for his exceptional and unwavering dedication to NATS, and for the significant IMPACT his leadership, initiative, and achievements has made on the association.
A highlight video was shown at the conference featuring colleagues and NATS members congratulating him, which was taken from a much longer video (see full version below).
President Carol Blankenship was one of many who congratulated him in a surprise video.
“Here’s to you, Allen!” Blankenship said. “Congratulation on being awarded the NATS IMPACT Award. You are so deserving of this award. During my time as president, which has coincided with the pandemic, you have been an inspiration for this organization and for singers all over the world. You have been diligent. You have not been reactive. You’ve been thoughtful, and careful, and led teachers and all those who work in the voice community through this difficult time. You’re always there for NATS and for the voice community. Thank you for all you do for NATS, and all of us who come in contact with you. Thank you for connecting us to others who are not in NATS and thank you for all that you have given to this organization and continue to give. Congratulations, Allen.”
More than $15,000 has been raised in a new IMPACT Award fund, with a goal of $20,000, in honor of Henderson. He will have the opportunity to designate these dollars to a NATS project of his choosing.
