NATS Names Gregory Sharpless its New Marketing & Communications Administrator
Jacksonville, Florida – January 11, 2016
The National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), the world’s largest professional association of teachers of singing, has announced the appointment of Gregory Sharpless as Marketing & Communications Administrator.
Sharpless has been involved in communications as well as publication work for a variety of markets and industries since 1984, including fine arts, graphic design, out-of-home advertising, digital printmaking and others. In addition, he has served as Publications Editor for the Office of the Governor of the State of Ohio. His brands and publications have won multiple Awards of Excellence in Graphics and Editorial Excellence from the American Society of Business Press Editors.
“Greg’s background and experience will help NATS continue to develop our brand awareness and communicate effectively with all our constituencies and in multiple media formats. We look forward to many future successes with Greg in this position,” says NATS executive director Allen Henderson.
“In every market and industry I’ve been fortunate to work in throughout my career,” says Sharpless, “my goal has always been to help that market’s constituents to become better at their craft, by building a better pipeline of information between all of the market’s players –via online, digital and print. In addition, I’ve been able to assist markets in raising their image overall with the general public. I’m looking forward to being able to work with NATS members and its chapters to do just that.”
Founded in 1944, the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS, http://www.nats.org) is the largest professional association of teachers of singing in the world with more than 7,000 members in the United States, Canada and nearly 30 other countries. Internationally, NATS is represented in Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, China, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan and the United Kingdom, with the number of countries growing every year
The organization’s biennial NATS National Conference attracts NATS members and others from around the world to share in programs, demonstrations, lectures, master classes and competitions that help celebrate the art of singing and increase knowledge of teachers to help them better assist their students. The 54th NATS National Conference will be held July 8-12, 2016, at the Marriott Magnificent Mile in Chicago.
