Title: New England Conservatory Preparatory School Chair of Voice

Bio: Deborah Williams is currently a member of the voice faculty and Chair of Voice at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School. Prior to moving to Boston, she was Associate Professor of Voice at Chicago State University. Deborah has a BME and an MM degree from the University of Oklahoma with continued study in the DMA program at the University of Texas. Her solo vocal career spans from recitals at Carnegie in New York City to concerts and recitals in Texas, New Jersey, New York, Chicago, Ukraine, and Italy. Other solo credits include concerts with the New Jersey Philharmonic Orchestra, members of the New York City and the Chicago Symphony Orchestras, Kishwaukee Orchestra, Oak Park and River Forest Symphony Orchestra, and Orchestra Sinfonica Nova Amadeus in Rome. Deborah’s students include first place winners at NATS competitions in Oklahoma and Massachusetts as well as finalists in the most recent Massachusetts Schmidt Competitions. Many of her students sing professionally in classical, jazz, and gospel genres.
