Job Description / Duties

The Jacobs School of Music Voice Department seeks candidates for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.

Responsibilities: Studio teaching of undergraduate and graduate voice majors, with the possibility of teaching departmental courses depending on the needs of the voice department and the candidate’s expertise and interest. Service on School of Music committees and participation in departmental meetings, hearings, auditions, recruitment activities, and doctoral advisory committees is expected.

Qualifications / Required Skills

A dynamic individual with a record of strong teaching as evidenced by student accomplishments such as admission to graduate degrees and successful entry into the professional arena. Ability to attract and recruit talented students. Completed doctorate preferred. Comparable professional experience will be given equal consideration. At a later date the search committee may request performance recordings or videos, class syllabi, and videos of the applicant teaching both male and female students.
