What's New > Strother joins NATS executive team, will manage marketing and communications
Tom Strother has joined the executive staff at the National Association of Teachers of Singing as its marketing and communications administrator, effective Oct. 4.
The Alabama native worked previously as director of communication at Jacksonville-area nonprofit Second Harvest North Florida and its parent organization, Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida, since 2008. Before that, he worked for 10 years as an administrator in college athletics, overseeing communications offices at Auburn University at Montgomery, Troy University and the University of North Florida.
Strother’s responsibilities at NATS will include oversight of the association’s printed materials, website, social media platforms, media relations and advertising strategy. In addition, he will assist NATS staff members with marketing and soliciting sponsorships for national conferences and workshops.
“Tom brings a wealth of experience in marketing and communications to NATS. We look forward to the many and varied ways his expertise will positively effect the work of our organization,” said NATS Executive Director Allen Henderson.
Strother graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1994. He was also a four-year member of the Auburn University Marching Band. He and his wife, Kristy, live in Jacksonville and have four children.
